Today’s tip comes from Lingfield where SHADED EDGE has dropped to his last winning mark and his trainer has reported some good form at home. He’s got some good placed efforts to his name on this course, as well as some fairly impressive turf wins. He’s been running fairly consistently of late and his performance wasn’t helped by being in the rear of the field (the horse prefers to be ridden prominently). Martin Dwyer gets a good tune out of the horse and a big run is expected today.

Today’s tip comes from Lingfield where the fairly consistent TOTALLY FOCUSSED aims to take advantage of his lowest mark in a long time. Despite some fairly average showings of late, the trainer believes the horse still has ability and he is now at a mark only 2lbs higher than his last win. He’s back up in trip to one mile, which suits, and Lingfield is a track that he enjoys. The mercurial Hayley Turner takes the ride and she coaxed a good performance out of the horse LTO.

Today’s tip comes from Southwell where John Weymes brings MADISON BELLE back to a racecourse for the first time in 7 months. Despite this absence, her results before the break were quite encouraging, especially at Southwell (finishing in top three on the last 7 consecutive occasions). She’s moved up in grade today but this is just another sign that she is in good heart. At odds of 33/1 she has excellent E/W claims.

Today’s tip comes from Chepstow where the impressive STRATEGIC APPROACH aims to defy a 11lb rise in the ratings since his maiden win here earlier in the month. The heavy ground is clearly not a problem and Wayne Hutchinson’s mount won with so much in hand LTO that today’s rise might not stop him. He is fairly unexposed and this could be a chance to confirm himself as a horse of some promise.

Today’s tip comes from Kempton where the ever dependable WELL CHIEF bids to see off his younger rivals in a hotly contested chase. I’m a big believer in career place statistics and if you have information that the horse still performing well at home, you should always part with your money E/W if the odds are agreeable. This horse has finished in the top three places over jumps 19 times out of 22 starts (86%) in a career spanning over 9 years. He doesn’t like finishing out of the frame and at odds of 5/1, he provides great value in an 8 horse field.

Today’s tip comes from Kempton where Alan King gives a rare run to LAKE LEGEND in the 13:20. This 6 y-o doesn’t see a race course as often as his ability should dictate but King has obviously found an opening today which he knows he can exploit. The horse has had 5 races over hurdles and prevailed on 3 occasions, finishing second on another. He acts on all types of ground and has won at today’s distance. It is significant that King is wheeling him out today and despite the field being large, a big run is expected. Wayne Hutchinson takes the ride today and he has won on the horse twice before. All boxes ticked.

Today’s tip comes from Southwell where MERRION TIGER bids to continue his fantastic course record. George Foster has got some cracking horses up north and despite disappointing at other race courses, this horse boasts 3 wins from 3 starts at Southwell. Comfortable with today’s distance, he sets a very good standard.
