Today’s tip comes from Kempton where James Fanshawe runs a horse who has only raced once in the last year. MONSIEUR FILLIOUX has had his share of problems and isn’t the easiest horse to school but he has plenty of ability. The first two runs of his career were filled with promise but a series of problems has meant his only run this year was at Lingfield in August. Something clearly wasn’t right (finished 8th) and he hasn’t been seen on a track since. If we ignore this last run and concentrate on the trainer’s opinion of the horse, this could be an excellent chance to steal a march on the bookies.

Today’s tip comes from Lingfield where Henry Cecil gives a run out to the classy TRANQUIL TIGER. An easy winner on his all weather debut LTO and boasts an impressive portfolio of wins on turf throughout his career. The field is small and this has worked to his advantage in the past. There isn’t much quality in the race and the horse should justify its favourite tag.

Today’s tip comes from Southwell where we back LUCKY MELLOR to continue his excellent record on the all weather. From 8 runs he has placed in the top three 6 times. He lost narrowly here LTO to the ironically named Point To Prove but connections have got him firing at home and he should have too much pace for this small field.

Today’s tip comes from Exeter where Nigel Twiston Davies hopes AMMUNITION will fire himself to glory. Back down to 2m 4f and on soft ground, this horse certainly has the conditions in his favour. The odds are certainly not reflective of this horse’s chances, especially with some encouraging displays Towcester this year. Also, David England is in great form and he takes the ride today.

Today’s tip comes from Bangor where Alan King gives a hurdles debut to a horse who has certainly not disgraced in his 9 race flat career. DEVIL TO PAY has impressed his new yard since moving from John Dunlop’s stable and there’s a good feeling that he will get off to a winning start today. He won a tight race at Goodwood back in May and has placed twice since then. Connections have chosen this race as a ideal start for the 4 y-o and traditionally they have a good record at Bangor.

Today’s tip comes from Southwell where the ever reliable COLORUS bids for a 5th win in 2009. He has 3 course and distance successes to his name, with his latest one coming in October. He chased home hat-trick hero Lesley’s Choice here earlier this month in a hotly contested handicap, losing only by 1 length. Today’s low draw should help him get very competitive.

Today’s tip comes from Plumpton where Gary Moore sends out a horse who looked to have quite a bit of promise in his early career but has since lost his way. NUMIDE won the Greatwood Hurdle last year in tremendous fashion. The trainer tears his hair out with this horse but he retains a lot of ability, despite some ailing performances since that big win. He ran an encouraging race LTO at Folkestone, finishing second, and should love the conditions today.

Today’s tip comes from Kempton where Bryan Smart turns out JACK RACKHAM in the 15:55. Smart’s horses have been running well of late and he’s had positive things to say about this one’s performances at home. The horse is well drawn in stall 10 and could give a good account of himself after a 3 month break.

Today’s tip comes from Cheltenham where KHYBER KIM promises to line our pockets for the second time in a month. On the 15th of November we listened to Nigel Twiston Davies when he said (of KHYBER KIM):
“If I told this horse that hard work never killed anyone he’d reply ‘but why take the chance?’”
“He keeps plenty for himself, but he comes into this race as fit as he has ever been. First time out every season is when he’s most likely to show his true worth and I’m expecting a big run.”
That faith saw us to a 20/1 winner. Looking at his rivals today I see no reason why he can’t complete the double. The course is the same, the trip is the same, Paddy Brennan is on board and there are only 6 other horses to contend with.
