Only beaten a nose at Ffos Las last month, coming after an ordinary showing over 1m3f at Kempton on her all-weather debut. She may have been found out by the trip that day, as she was right there until a furlong out, so it could be worth siding with her today.

Marco Botti’s filly failed to show her true colours on rain-softened ground at Ascot last time but her two previous runner-up efforts in this sort of company read very well. She boasts a win and two seconds from three starts at Kempton so an all-weather surface suits and the return to 1m looks ideal.

Luca Cumani’s filly LIBRETTISTA comes here in search of the hat-trick and it would be foolish to overlook her if she continues her excellent form. The horse has hit a bit of a purple patch of form and chalked up a nice double on the Wolverhampton polytrack. The handicapper has responded by adding another 5lbs but that shouldn’t slow him down too much. Quinn takes the ride again after some lovely hold up displays on the horse for the last two wins.

An impressive winner over C&D last month, he posted a respectable 4th place finish in an apprentice handicap LTO. The jockey showed a bit of inexperience and didn’t grasp hold of the race when it was there for the taking. Under a more forceful ride today, the horse should finish in front.

Today’s tip comes from Lingfield where the prolific ISLAND SUNSET goes for her fourth win on the trot. She has improved after every win since emerging at Wolverhampton in Oct ’08 and, although lightly raced, Willie Muir has the knack of placing her to win. A 6lb rise after her win at Kempton should not be enough to stop her upward curve and it seems a good idea to back her until she falters.
