Today’s tip comes from Newbury where Mick Channon bids to land this race for the 5th time in 10 years. GOLDEN SHINE was let down by inexperience when favourite on her debut. She finished third that day and went on to win a muddling race LTO at Warwick. Connections have high hopes for her today and, under the calm steering of Alan Munro, she should take a lot of beating today.

Today’s tip comes from Newbury where the Brian Meehan trained ARCANO has an unbeaten record to defend. Quickly made up into leading 6f 2yo last summer, pipping subsequent Gimcrack winner Showcasing at Newbury on debut and then quickening up well to take July Stakes and Prix Morny in good times. Upped in trip today but looks strong enough to stay the distance and already has wins on good ground.

Today’s tip comes from Newbury where the imperious DIAMOND HARRY is given his second run out over fences. The odds are gonna be short but this horse is real class act, winning 8 out of his first 10 races. He took to fences extremely well LTO and the increase in trip shouldn’t prove any obstacle to him blasting away his 3 rivals today.

Today’s tip comes from Newbury where a smart horse on the flat looks to open his account over hurdles. ERMINE SEA is potentially well treated now handicapping and his recent third on the flat at Ascot particularly caught the eye. This was not an isolated piece of form however as he had already shown a bit of promise whilst with John Gosden. He has had three runs over hurdles, placing on each occasion and displaying enough ability to think he could be up to the task of defying today’s mark of 115.

Today’s tip comes from Newbury where promising apprentice Matthew Davies partners BUGSY’S BOY in the 17:35 at Newbury. This plucky horse has been running over hurdles for a while but he looks to have a chance off his current mark. He has gone well off higher in past form which suggests he has a great chance of getting his nose in front today. Two mile is well in his range he and likes a bit of cut in the ground, which is extremely important now the rain has descended on Newbury.
