Today’s tip comes from Newbury where the Jarvis stable hopes for better luck with one of their star recruits. Coventry runner-up ELZAAM has been given plenty of time to recover from the problems he encountered after finishing a disappointing third in the July Stakes at Newmarket and he is still held in the highest regard by Michael Jarvis. Almost certain to appreciate the step up from 6f, he is fancied to take advantage of this ease in grade.

Today’s tip comes from Kempton where Richard Hills teams up with Sir Michael Stoute on SERHAAL. The horse has been held in higher regard than his performances have justified but is thrown a mark of 70 for his handicap debut. This looks workable and he is also unexposed over 1m. He has found himself slightly outpaced in previous races so it is likely that the extra distance will suit.

Today’s tip comes from Ascot where the talented OUQBA looks to put on a better display than LTO. Won Jersey Stakes here last June and resumed with career-best second to easy winner Paco Boy in Group 1 Lockinge at Newbury in May. Clear of the rest that day and big danger if able to show that form. LTO’s run over a straight mile here is a concern but it could pay to give the horse the benefit of the doubt as it was a strangely run race.

Today’s tip comes from Newmarket where TAKE TEN aims to confirm the promise shown in some big juvenile races. Acquited himself with some style in the Timeform Million and Timeform Sprint over 7f and 6f respectively before finding 5f an inadaquate distance LTO at Sandown. The horse was eased down that day, confirming that it was perhaps a bit stiff for him. Looks on a favourable mark and a major player if returning to that earlier form.

Today’s tip comes from Leicester where the handicapper hasn’t been too harsh on UDABAA for his handicap debut. He seemed a very progressive horse over 8f but today’s step up to 10f promises to suit. LTO at Kempton he rallied well within the last furlong to lead in the closing strides, looking as though that burst could have continued over further. It’ll be interesting to see how he does today and whether his improvement can continue.

Today’s tip comes from York where Marcus Tregoning decides to run the talented AAJEL, despite drying ground. After expressing concerns about the going during the last meet here, he was cautious with the safety for his horse. However, the horse runs today off the back of a pleasing reappearance LTO in a group race at Ascot, being headed in the final 100yds and going down by half a length. Although lightly raced, this grey has three career wins to his name and a handful of placed finishes. He has the talent to blitz this race today, if he is in good heart. Tregoning holds the horse in high regard and wouldn’t run him unless he felt he was performing well.

Quickly made up into leading 6f 2yo last summer, pipping subsequent Gimcrack winner Showcasing at Newbury on debut and then quickening up well to take July Stakes and Prix Morny in good times. Upped in trip today but looks strong enough to stay the distance and already has wins on good ground.
